During Student Pulse onboarding, you can’t set up your Wellbeing team in Student Pulse if staff group allocations are missing or incorrect. This issue is often caused by missing staff from your staff spreadsheet or your school’s SIS, or their details are incorrect.
You can fix staff allocations by resetting onboarding or restarting only Part 2 (configuration).

Reset onboarding
Returning to Part 1(a) of the Student Pulse onboarding process means updating the staff spreadsheet and uploading it again to Student Pulse. If your school uses an SIS, you must configure your enrolments and group allocations in the SIS first, and Pulse will update staff group allocations on the next sync.
- On the Confirm your Wellbeing Team dialog, select Reset onboarding.
- On the Reset Onboarding pop-up, select Part 1: Importing School Data. Pulse will reset your onboarding and send you a link to start again from Part 1(a) of the Student Pulse onboarding process.
- Select CONFIRM. You can sign out of Pulse.
- Update the staff spreadsheet.
- Upload the new staff spreadsheet to Student Pulse.
- Pulse will email you when uploading is complete. Select the link in the email to configure Student Pulse.
Note
You need to re-upload the student and staff directory spreadsheets again even if you did not update them.
Restart configuration
Restarting Part 2 of the Student Pulse onboarding process takes you back only to the start of the Student Pulse configuration, where you can manually add staff to Pulse.
Warning
If your school is on SIS, manually added students and staff to Pulse can be overwritten on the next sync. Ensure all students and staff are configured in your SIS before restarting Part 2 of the onboarding process.
- On the Confirm your Wellbeing Team screen, select Restart Part 2.
- Pulse will send you an email with the Reset Pulse Set Up link. Select the link to go to Student Pulse configuration.
- Add students to Student Pulse and set up your school’s structure.
- Add your Pulse Director.
- Add missing staff members to groups by selecting Add missing staff.
- Continue the Student Pulse configuration from step 3c onwards. Refer to the complete instructions in Student Pulse Onboarding Part Two: Configuring Student Pulse.
