You can set Pulse to auto-pause during term breaks, so students won’t be able to sign in, check in or receive notifications outside school terms or semesters.
Before you begin
- You must be a Pulse Coordinator.
- You must have access to the Pulse Coordinator dashboard.
- Ensure you have set up your term dates.
Auto-pause Pulse during term breaks
You can set Pulse to auto-pause during term breaks and temporarily stop sending notifications.
- Sign in to your Pulse Coordinator dashboard.
- Go to Settings > Pulse > Schedule.

Select Change next to Pulse will not be paused during term breaks.

In the Pause Pulse during term breaks pop-up widget, turn the toggle on.

Note
The widget will show when Pulse will automatically pause. Pulse will automatically unpause once the next term starts.
Turn auto-pause off
You can set Pulse to remain active during term breaks and allow students and staff to check in, reach out to other staff members for help and receive notifications.
- Sign in to your Pulse Coordinator dashboard.
- Go to Settings > Pulse > Schedule.
- Select Change next to Pulse will not be paused during term breaks.
- In the pop-up widget, turn the toggle off for Pulse will automatically pause during term breaks.
- Select Save.
Access support services
When Pulse is paused, students can still visit Pulse and access the online counseling and mental health services available in your region. If you want to add more services for your region to Pulse, reach out to your Customer Success Manager.
