How do I check in as a student?

This article is for Students.

Check in to Pulse on your device and share how you feel about your wellbeing, experiences, and reflections. You can also show your appreciation by sending gratitude to someone at school.

Select a language

Students in the US Region will have the option to change the language to Spanish. Select your preferred language on the language selector on the top-right of the screen.

Wellbeing questions

Pulse will first ask you the Wellbeing question: How are you feeling today?

  • If you select I’m feeling great, I’m feeling positive, I’m feeling in the middle, or I'm feeling negative, Pulse will next ask a series of follow-up questions.

If you’re a student in Australia and New Zealand, Pulse will ask “Digging Deeper” questions to describe how you’re feeling. Your school can see your response to this question.

  • If you select I need some help, Pulse will ask if you want to talk to a teacher, a counsellor, or another adult at school you trust. Select the name of the person you want to ask for help, then confirm your choice by selecting Yes. Pulse will send you an email or an alert on your phone when the staff member has seen your message.

    Note

If you select I need some help and choose to reach out to a trusted adult, Pulse will skip the rest of the check-in and ask instead if you want to speak to someone immediately.

Experience questions

Pulse will next ask questions about how you feel about school and life in general. These are called Experience questions.

Each question has five responses you can choose from, from most positive (green) to most negative (red). Your school can see your answers, but they won't know they're yours.

Reflection questions

The last set of questions Pulse will ask are Reflection questions. These questions ask about what makes you happy, relaxed, or excited. Only you can see your answer to these questions, and it will be part of a special wellbeing summary you'll receive at the end of each term.
