Pulse Reflections Overview

This article is intended for School Staff.

Pulse Reflections helps students track their wellbeing trends and patterns for the school year. This reporting feature recaps students’ answers to the Wellbeing, Gratitude, and Reflection questions as easy-to-understand cards.

Important

Discussing Reflections with your students can help them better understand their Pulse Reflections.

Students who check in regularly will find Reflections more meaningful than those who check in occasionally. Reflection cards appear only when enough information has been collected, so some cards may be unavailable. For example, Gratitude cards won’t appear if a student hasn’t shared gratitude.

Students can see their Reflections by selecting Reflections from the left menu on the Pulse check-in page.

Digging Deeper Reflections

Digging Deeper Reflections recaps the students’ responses to the question, ‘Which of these [emotions] best describes how you are feeling?’.

Students with 50%+ of their check-ins in the ‘I need some help’ and ‘I’m feeling negative’ categories will be presented with support options following this card. This card will remind students that it is okay if they have had both good and bad times over the term, allow them to make a help request, access help resources, and suggest they can also reach out to a trusted adult for support outside of Pulse.

Gratitude Reflections

Gratitude Insights shows how many times the student shared gratitude and who they were most grateful to. It also summarises the top gratitudes they sent and what they are grateful for in their lives.
