Actioning Help Requests in Pulse Help Inbox

This article is for Pulse Teachers, Directors and Stewards.

Help requests from students and colleagues are sent to the Pulse Help Inbox. To action someone’s help request, acknowledge their request, reach out to the person, and mark their request as done.

Why you’re receiving help requests

You will receive help requests if you’re part of the Wellbeing team or chosen as a Help Responder. For Student Pulse, help responders are set up from one of these three options during onboarding:

  • The Wellbeing Team (e.g. the staff assigned to oversee groups)
  • The Wellbeing Team and teachers (e.g. staff assigned to oversee groups, class teachers)
  • All staff at the school (i.e. all staff members at school)

For Staff Pulse, help responders are those allocated to have wellbeing oversight of groups.

Step 1: Acknowledge the request

  1. Sign in to Pulse and select Help Inbox on the left navigation. You can also select the Help notification or the Help Inbox widget.

  1. Select ACKNOWLEDGE to let the requestor know you’ve read their request and that you will contact them.

Important

Pulse facilitates receiving, acknowledging, and closing help requests from students and staff. However, we recommend following your school's policies and processes for providing support.

Step 2: Mark the help request as done

After responding and providing help to the requestor, you can mark their request as done.

  1. In Pulse, go to Help Inbox > My Inbox.
  2. Under Acknowledged Requests, select the requestor’s name. The Request Details widget will appear.
  3. Select MARK AS DONE.

The help request will move to Resolved/Referred Requests. The Pulse Director can then archive the request.
